OT:Woman Charged With DUI After Collision
According to reports a woman that has been identified as Chanses Smith has been charged with driving under the influence after a 67th street accident. Police state a collision involving the woman identified as Smith, who resides in the 6700 block of South Winchester Avenue was driving a Kia westbound on 67th street. When a Cadillac Escalade that was speeding on south Ashland Street ran a red light. According to police the vehicles collided at 67th and Ashland Street causing the Cadillac Escalade to strike a pole after hitting the Kia. The man driving the Escalade that sped through the red light was killed in the collision.
Smith was transported from the scene of the accident to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Smith is reported to be in good condition and has been charged with driving under the influence and driving without insurance in the 67th Street accident.
There has been no reports if the unidentified man driving the Cadillac Escalade was driving under the influence at the times of the crash and his identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
