Memory Order Cut by Apple Corporation-Ramifications?

Filed under: Economic News — eljaysun @ 8:45 pm

Reports say that as of Wednesday of this week the Apple Corporation cut the amount of NAND flash memory for the 2008 year that iSuppli would have supplied Apple with for iPods and Iphones.

The iSuppli firm who supplies a large enough amount of this type of memory stated that it is felt the effect of this decrease in orders could be a warning that the Apple iPod sales will slow this spring along with the rest of the national ecconomy.

This also could prove to be a decisive factor in the revenue of the iSuppli Company……… Apple spent an approximate $1.2 billion dollars on flash memory in the 2007 year, which is another indication with this cut in orders that the Apple iPod sales are expected to be slower this year.

Prior to this announcement iSuppli had forecasted that the NAND flash memory orders would increase by approximately 32.2% and they had expected this would vastly increase their market growth.

This comes as a surprise after the recent trade shows in which Apple brought their new iPods to the public with larger storage space and the information released about the long awaited movies that would be available on iTunes. This news should be interesting to watch, especially from an economic perspective in general.

On the supply side, capital spending on NAND production in 2008 will grow by over twenty percent, which will cause a drop in prices, iSuppi said. As a result, suppliers are likely to go into the red in the first quarter of this year and are unlikely to recover in the second quarter. Additional details can be found over at the Apollo Technology Blog

Signs of market troubles were evident in the fourth quarter of last year, as global NAND revenue declined 2.4% from the third quarter to $4.1 billion. Of the top-eight NAND suppliers, six suffered sequential declines in revenues

Real Estate Prices Continue to Fall in many areas

Filed under: Economic News — eljaysun @ 8:16 pm

In an excellent story by top journalist Matt Woolsey which was initially published on the Yahoo online News network, it was reported that the real estate market in general and home prices in particular keep falling in many regions of the United States. In Sacramento, for instance, home sale prices for November of last year fell just under twenty percent over 2006!But there is nonetheless some good news for those beleagured residents of the state capital: they will benefit from the executive initiative which is supposed to assist homeowners who are facing foreclosure and financial ruin. This particular effort is named “Project Lifeline,” and has been put together by 6
of the countries’s biggest financial institutions, which service nearly fifty percent of the mortgages in the United States. it essentially permits certain homeowners to suspend proceedings for some thirty critical days while providing them with various forms of refinancing assistance.

The financial companies in question, such as JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Countrywide Financial, Citigroup, Washington Mutual plus Wells Fargo state that they will let homeowners know who are ninety days or more past due and try to find some kind of way to make their loans manageable, according to the news report.

ZipRealty, which is a San Francisco real estate tracking company which analyzes multiple listing service data, provided the facts for Matt Woolsey’s superbly informative article.

In the California state capital, about half of all the houses on the market have been reduced in price! That is an amazing percentage, is it not?

Just behind them is the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, where during that same one year time perios prices tumbled about seventeen percent or so. In addition, the number of homes on the market surged by some thirty percent during that same time span likely leading to more problems later on.

Detroit, Michigan finished ninth on the list. They were already a pretty depressed real estate market with a declining manufacturing base (isn’t outsourcing grand).

Florida took spots on the list of the fastest-falling markets, according to the report.

Apple Corporation adds to their product Line

Filed under: Investing News — eljaysun @ 9:38 pm

Here is the latest news regarding the iPod, the iPhone ansd also the Apple Corporation. Thanks for reading and also thanks for bearing with me during the re-building and re-designing of the blog!

In a recent new release the Apple Corporation has added to their popular iPod Touch and also the iPhone to enhance the pleasure of using both of these appliances. One that many iPod users have waited for, they company has added to the appeal of these by giving the iPhone 16 gigabyte capacity and the Apple iPod Touch has been upgraded to a 32 gigabyte capacity, giving the Touch twice the space that it currently has in the iPod Touch.

This space will hold more of the iTunes music and now the movies that they will carry and in a statement by the Apple vice president; Greg Joswiak said sometimes there is never enough memory for some people to store their music, movies and photos.

This updated iPod Touch and the iPhone will go on sale immediately in stores and both will be priced at the same amount.

While this upgrade has given the iPod Touch more room, it is still behind the iPod Classic in terms of storage, which is an important feature with not only music and photos but video and movies that some may start to download, or television shows that will also be available on iTunes.

I really have to hand it to Apple, they are constantly improving and otherwse modifying their products. In related news, it was reported in the MacWorld online magazine that added applications which already appeared on the iPhone along with other new features delivered some confusion among iPod touch owners who wondered why they were being charged $19.99 for a software update, but as it tuens out, Apple had no control over the rpicing, according to the article. It turns out Apple didn’t have much of a choice about charging for the iPod.

Freelife international Launches new Goji Juice Product

Filed under: Health News — eljaysun @ 7:24 pm

Freelife International, a very successful network marketing firm, which is known primarily for their flagship product goji juice, has recently unveiled their latest product GoChi, which is billed as the New Generation of Himalayan Goji Juice. Although Freelife International is a worldwide company, this new goji juice is currently only available to it’s distributors in the United States and the Canadians although that will soon change. Freelife distributes their goji juice and other products via it’s enormous network of independent distributors worldwide and depends heavily on positive word of mouth to help move their items. Relying on word of mouth helps them to have more funds available for research and development that would have normally went to marketing.

For many years individuals from all over the world have sought to feel younger as well as healthier. It is very important that individuals consume antioxidant rich items such as goji juice and berry juice because of the free radical fighting properties whhich they bestow. Free radicals of cours can help fight cell degradation which results in the outward manifestations of “aging”.

When an individual is injesting the right foods it shows in their appearance, their skin in particular is healthier and their energy level is generally at a higher level than the individual who does not eat properly, does not get the proper vitamins and antioxidants. This is where products such as goji juice and acai juice, for example, can help because when a person does not get the needed nutrition it is seen in the skin, which may not be very clear.

While there are some folks who consider goji juice to be a sort of fountain of youth, there have been  various research studies done showing it has been a favorite treatment of the Far East for many years.

This has become such a part ofoverall wellness for so many peoples lives that it can now be found in some grocery stores, it can be ordered off the world wide web and it is not only the juice that can be ordered, the goji berries (sometimes called wolf berries) are also available on some web sites.

There is also some research being done on the effects it may have on cancer patients, while there is no firm evidence what benefits it may have for these patients one fact that it certain is the goji plants, berries and juice are endowed with a pletheraa of antioxidants, which are of course a very important part of a healthy body and those who drink this juice are filling their bodies with the antioxidants, which in its self is important for a healthy body. Certain food items (especially fruit) which we consume have been noted for having a particularly high
antioxidant profile. These include sweet potatoes, peaches, pomegranates, most leafy green vegetables such as spinach, apples, acai berries and many other kinds of berries.
One berry that certainly stands out from the rest is the goji berry, obviously from
which goji juice is made.  A particularly good source of this healthful drink is Goji Juice from Freelife and Dr. Earl Mendell, PHD .Several years ago, the company FreeLife launched made a huge impact on the global health stage with the launch of their Himalayan Goji Juice. At that particular point in time, hardly anyone had heard of this miniscule red berry which looks rather like a red raisin but without the wrinkles. At the same time, the newest generation of Himalayan Goji Juice, GoChi delivers an enormous potency and balance of the unique LBPs (Lycium barbarum polysaccharides).  As a matter of fact, because of the latest technology, it has some thirty percent more polysaccharides. That is not too shabby when you consider the relative quality of the initial product……Named for the “go” in goji and chi, the ancient Chinese term for “vital life force,” GoChi has all the goodness of the original version.
